The Benefits Of A Full Body Workout

Very often those trying to get in shape and develop a fit body get trapped into thinking they must go to the gym for hours and hours each workout and they need to do it six days a week. The fact is the average person can get great results with as little as one hour per session using a full body workout. This type of workout is somewhat intense by design to get the person following it in and out of the gym with fantastic results.

Choose A Routine That Works

They might go that often for awhile but then begin to miss days until they finally give up and quit going altogether. Obviously, that is not a plan that works.

For others, it is difficult to have too many days in-between workouts. If they go only a few times a week then it never becomes a habit and they begin to fill in those empty days with other activities. Then they too eventually start going less and less and eventually quit altogether.

Advantages Of A Full Body Workout

When following this type of workout correctly it is possible to complete a full session in a single hour. This not only helps someone get in and out of the gym fast, but actually intensifies the workout. This means the person not only gets a good workout for their muscles, but they also get their heart rate up which revs metabolism and burns fat and calories.

Another advantage is that this workout only requires three days a week leaving four days of freedom. For those who want less time at the gym, this is ideal. For those who want to workout more, the rest days can be used for cardio exercise days. That makes this routine the best for both groups.

The Routine

These exercises will consist of an intense workout of one muscle group at a time using heavy exercise routines. Bench presses for working the chest, squats for the legs and chin ups for the back are some examples. Each of these exercises are done moving heavy weight which overloads the muscles allowing the person to do less exercise.

Testosterone helps build muscle. Cortisol leads to storing more fat. Doing heavy compound exercises in shorter succession will cause a boost in testosterone. Doing longer workouts produces cortisol which causes a reaction in the body which leads to storing food as fat. These shorter more intense workouts will build muscle and burn fat.

Remember that when going to the gym it is not about getting caught up on reading or looking through magazines. It is about the workout. To get the best results it is required a person really focus their mind and attention on the workout itself. Each movement of weight lifting or other exercises should be done in the mind as well as with the body.

Getting results in one-hour workout sessions done in only 3 days a week is really possible. It is simply a matter of focus and intense exercise. Anyone who follows these suggestions is likely to start seeing significant results with-in the first week or two.
